URide Peterborough announced that portions from each ride on Thursday will be donated to Peterborough Shares.

Peterborough Shares is a Facebook group that aims to help anyone in need. To date URide Peterborough has donated over $850 to the group.

The group provides those in need the opportunity to ask for things like groceries or household items, and provides those with excess the opportunity to offer it.

Recently, thanks to individuals in the group and donations from organizations like URide Peterborough, the group was able to purchase a young woman clothing for a new job.

On Thursday a portion of each ride will be automatically donated to the group.

Uride Donating All of Thursday's Profits For Ukrainian Efforts

Rideshare company Uride is donating all profits to support the people of Ukraine from all of Thursday’s fares.

“What is happening in Ukraine is devastating, and we want to support people that have been forcibly displaced from their homes, their lives, and their families in any way we can,” said Cody Ruberto, Uride’s CEO. “This Thursday, March 10th, we are donating all profits to support Canada Ukraine Foundation and their work in Ukraine. ”

Passengers can support the cause by using Uride’s services. The rideshare company encourages those who cannot ride to look for other ways to support Ukraine.

To receive 50 per cent off any ride up to $20 enter the code 50PTBO on their app.

This promotion will be available until Jan. 31 at 11:59 p.m.

Local Rideshare Company URide is Offering Free Rides To Those In Need On Christmas Day

Local Rideshare company Uride is offering free rides to anyone in need this Christmas.

Anyone who is struggling financially and needs rides this Christmas can email “help” to support@uridetech.com and Uride will send them a code for two free rides, up to $15 each to use on Christmas day.

“This time of the year is tough for a lot of people. We don’t want anyone to worry about how they’ll afford a ride to Christmas dinner” said Cody Ruberto, Uride Founder and CEO.

Residents can get a ride by downloading the Uride app. Average pickup times are under 10 minutes, and may be a little longer than usual on holiday nights.

Uride was created to prevent impaired driving. They operate 24/7, and encourage residents to help keep our roads safe this holiday season.

Uride To Launch Ridesharing Program In Peterborough On November 27th

Uride, Canada’s Fastest Growing Ridesharing Company, is set to launch in Peterborough on Friday, November 27th, just in time for the holiday season. Uride began operations in Thunder Bay in March 2017, and now operates in eight cities across Ontario, Manitoba and Saskatchewan—with a focus being to help fill the transportation void that exists amongst smaller communities across Canada, and to stop people from impaired driving.
