His first goal came on the power play in the second period as teammate Gavin McKenna got into the zone and knifed through the defence and got a shot off. Martone knocked the rebound out of the air and in for a power play goal and a 4-1 lead.

Martone got his second goal in the last minute as Canada got into the offensive zone on the rush. McKenna fed Martone who one-timed it home to give Canada a 7-1 lead.

The Peterborough forward capped off his hat trick with a highlight-reel goal as he got the puck alone in front of the net and shot it between his legs for the 8-1 win.

Canada continues their preliminary rounds and aim to stay undefeated against Kazakhstan on Tuesday at noon.
