Peterborough Lakers Start Playoffs On the Right Foot with 1-0 Series Lead
/Game one goes to the Peterborough Century 21 Lakers in their first game of the Major Series Lacrosse playoffs with a 12-8 win over the Brooklin Lacrosse Club at the Peterborough Memorial Centre on Monday night.
Peterborough had a strong start with a 6-1 lead after the first period.
Joe Resetarits made his season debut for the Lakers since sustaining an ankle injury from playing in the National Lacrosse League. He made a goal and an assist in his return.
Brooklin attempted to mount a rally, scoring four goals to Peterborough’s three in the second period. The Lakers were able to keep pace with the visitors as each team scored three goals apiece in the third period for Peterborough to hold on for the win.
Goaltender Doug Buchan made 42 saves in his playoff game of the season.
