Owned and operated by Dr. Joe Hoja, the practice initially opened in East City in 1988 when frames were thick and lenses were even thicker. In 1993, the practice officially became known as Peterborough Optometric Centre and moved to a Lansdowne St. location before finding its current home in 2009 on Clonsilla Ave.

In three decades, Peterborough Optometric has grown immensely in both physical area and staff size. What use to be a staff of just Dr. Hoja plus one has now blossomed into a staff of three optometrists and 20 highly skilled and trained staff members.

In fact, Peterborough Optometric has more Certified Optometric Assistants (16) than any clinic in the Kawarthas. With such a large and educated staff, the well-equipped office is able to do just about everything on site before your very eyes (pun intended).
They’ll greet you with a friendly smile and a warm pot of coffee when you walk in the door before they get to work giving you clear sight and preserving your eye health.
