1. Kawartha Combat
With the support of the Starter Company program—a Government of Ontario youth entrepreneurship program administered by the BAC—Kevin accessed funding to expand his operations and support to build a comprehensive business plan that will allow Kawartha Combat to continue to grow. Kawartha Combat offers martial arts programs, personal training, events and children’s camps.
2. Revive Hair Lounge
Kerry McMaster was ready to use her skills as a hair stylist to fuel her entrepreneurial dreams when she came across the B.L.A.S.T. Pilot Program being offered through the BAC. The program made her focus on what makes her business unique—being a Green Circle Salon and focusing on environmentally-friendly practices.
3. BE Catering
Using the services offered at the BAC, BE Catering was able to craft a strong business plan which has helped them as they expand and helped them secure financing from Community Futures Peterborough. PED and Community Futures work closely together, and as a result their mutual clients have a higher than average success rate on their funding applications.

Jess Arsenault, Co-Founder of Hard Winter Bread Co., accessed the BAC’s services as a student when she started a business through Summer Company. A few years later, Jess returned with her husband Graham to receive support to start Hard Winter Bread Co. They received assistance with their financials and business planning to help their business succeed.
