PTBOCanada Featured Post: Long & McQuade's Lesson Centres – Promoting Music Education for All Ages
/Is there anything quite like the feeling of a song being so great that you're compelled to bust out your best “air guitar” moves? What if you had the opportunity to turn those moves into playing the real thing?
Studies show music education sharpens memory, fosters self expression, improves reading and comprehension skills and so much more. The Lesson Centre at Long & McQuade in Peterborough offers lessons on-site, at affordable rates and with a variety of teachers and available times. Private lessons are currently available for guitar, bass, ukulele, piano, violin, mandolin, banjo, drums, harmonica, woodwinds, brass, music theory and voice.

Don't have an instrument? No problem! Long and McQuade has options for everyone with affordable rental rates and in-store financing.
Teachers are highly qualified and have plenty of real world experience, from professional rock gigs to concert bands, jazz performances and musical theatre.
Dawson McManus teaches bass, guitar, piano, ukulele and harmonica and plays locally with a number of bands including Broken Harmony and the Lindsay Barr Band
Shai Peer teaches piano and has played with a number of well-known musicians including Ronnie Hawkins and the Weber Brothers.
In addition to private lessons, the Lesson Centre also offers Rock Skool programs and “Little Musicians” classes for off-site day camps or daycare centres.
Students also have the opportunity to participate in contests, receive discounts on print music and perform at biannual recitals—a great way to gain live experience, boost confidence and connect with like-minded musicians!
